The Gildan 64000 Softstyle is a 4.5 oz./yd² T-shirt with a modern classic fit and a ring-spun cotton base fabric. Compare it with the heavier Gildan 5000 when choosing the weight and fit for an apparel order. Fiber content changes across heather and antique colors, so the style name alone is not enough to specify the fabric for a print run.

- Heather Oatmeal: 99/1 cotton/polyester; antique colors and Sport Grey: 90/10 cotton/polyester.
- Dark Heather and other heather colors: 65/35 polyester/cotton, except Graphite Heather at 50/50 cotton/polyester.
- Modern classic fit, narrow-width rib collar, and taped neck and shoulders.
- Tear-away label. Natural is undyed; visible specks are cotton fibers and seeds.

How is it different from the Gildan 5000?
The 64000 has a lighter 4.5 oz./yd² ring-spun cotton base fabric and modern classic fit. The 5000 is 5.3 oz./yd² with a classic fit. Check each size chart before substituting one style for the other.
Can I use the same print process for every color?
Confirm the fiber blend for the actual shade. Polyester-containing heathers may need a different ink or cure approach from cotton solids; have your decorator test the intended garment color before production.

These shirts are extremely lightweight, fit as expected even after they’ve been preshrunk, and the cotton feels really soft. My sole criticism is that the “tear away” labels don’t truly come off easily. When I try to tear them out, the seam stitches frequently come apart as well. I might have to consider another option to create my own neck labels.
